FamilyPlate

Delete your FamilyPlate account

You can ask us to delete your account and the personal data linked to it. This covers the same account on Android and the web. You do not need to sign in or reinstall the app.

Email a deletion request

Or write to support@familyplate.ai from your email app.

How to request deletion

  1. Use the subject FamilyPlate account deletion. Say that you want your account and its personal data deleted.
  2. If possible, send the request from the email address on your account. If you cannot access it, contact us so we can arrange another way to verify your request.
  3. We verify account ownership, explain any family or subscription steps and tell you what happens next. We confirm by email when deletion is complete.

Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, review keys or identity documents with your request.

You can also request deletion in the Android app: Settings β†’ Request account deletion. This sends a request to support; it does not immediately delete the account.

Children and parents

If you are a child and want your information removed, you can ask a parent or guardian to help, or contact us yourself. You do not need to explain why you want to leave.

A parent or legal guardian can request deletion of a child's account or information by emailing support. Tell us which account is concerned and your relationship to the child. We verify your authority before sharing or deleting information. Being a family manager in the app does not by itself prove legal guardianship.

If the child's information is part of someone else's family account, describe the information you want removed. We review that request separately so other family members' accounts are protected.

What is deleted

  • Your account details, preferences and sign-in sessions and tokens.
  • Personal data linked to your meal plans, shopping lists, favorites, votes, ratings and notifications.
  • Account-linked activity, email records and support information, subject to the exceptions below.

We also check information held by our service providers, including support messages and any attachments. Removing the database account alone does not complete the request.

We first resolve shared family ownership or shopping-list dependencies with you. Your request does not delete another person's account. Non-identifying aggregate statistics and genuinely anonymized public recipe content may remain.

Timing and information that may remain

We handle requests under applicable law and tell you the expected completion date after checking the request. If verification, shared-family arrangements or a legal obligation affect that date, we explain what is needed. We confirm completion only after the required checks.

If billing, fraud prevention or another legal duty requires us to keep particular records, we explain which records, the reason and the applicable retention period. They are not kept for ordinary use of your deleted account.

Recovery copies are separate from the active account. Rolling database recovery history currently covers six hours, but additional manually retained recovery copies do not all have an automatic expiry date. We review these copies as part of the request and explain any remaining retention and its reason. Deleted personal data must not be put back into normal use after a recovery.

Uninstalling FamilyPlate does not delete your account. Sending a deletion request does not itself cancel a paid subscription. If you have one, we help you identify the required cancellation or billing steps.
