Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, beef broth, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to create the sauce.

  2. 2

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat. Add the sliced flank steak and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef and set it aside.

  3. 3

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. 4

Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Return the beef to the skillet.

  5. 5

Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring well to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.

  6. 6

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately over cooked rice.
