Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1-2 green chilies, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. 1

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.

  2. 2

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until aromatic and the onion is translucent.

  3. 3

Increase the heat to medium-high, then add the beef cubes. Brown the beef on all sides.

  4. 4

Pour in the beef broth, tomato sauce, and soy sauce. Mix well and add bay leaves, green chilies, salt, and pepper.

  5. 5

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. 6

Add the carrots and green peas. Stir to combine and continue to simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes until the beef is tender and the vegetables are cooked.

  7. 7

Remove the bay leaves and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot over rice.
