Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, carrots)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Green onions, sliced for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.

  2. 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

Add the sliced beef to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until browned and just cooked through. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 4

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil, then add minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  5. 5

Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are crisp-tender.

  6. 6

Return the beef to the skillet. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables. Stir to coat everything evenly.

  7. 7

Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. Drizzle with sesame oil before serving. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.

  8. 8

Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
