Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 soft taco tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

Drain any excess fat from the skillet.

  3. 3

Add the taco seasoning and water to the beef. Stir to combine and let simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  4. 4

While the beef is simmering, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until soft and pliable, about 1-2 minutes on low heat or 15-20 seconds in the microwave.

  5. 5

To assemble the tacos, place a spoonful of the seasoned beef onto the center of each tortilla.

  6. 6

Top the beef with shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, and a spoonful of salsa. Add diced tomatoes and chopped cilantro if desired.

  7. 7

Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling and serve immediately.
