Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions (sliced, for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

In a large bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes if using.

  3. 3

Add chicken thighs to the bowl and coat them well with the honey garlic mixture.

  4. 4

Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for about 5-7 minutes until the skin is golden brown.

  5. 5

Flip the chicken thighs over, pour the remaining honey garlic sauce over them, and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.

  6. 6

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

  7. 7

Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

  8. 8

Serve hot with rice or vegetables.
