Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
  • Chopped fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil and add the spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

Roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. You should have around 16 meatballs.

  4. 4

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides, about 7-10 minutes. Remove meatballs and set aside.

  5. 5

In the same skillet, pour in the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Add the meatballs back into the skillet, cover, and cook for an additional 10 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.

  6. 6

Combine the drained spaghetti with the marinara sauce and meatballs, mixing well to coat the pasta. Heat through for a couple of minutes.

  7. 7

Serve hot, topped with additional grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
