Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Add to the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

  3. 3

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  4. 4

Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and brush them generously with sesame oil.

  5. 5

Pour the teriyaki sauce over the salmon fillets, reserving some for serving later.

  6. 6

Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

  7. 7

Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Drizzle with any remaining teriyaki sauce.

  8. 8

Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
