Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups green beans, trimmed
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • cooked jasmine rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. 1

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

Add the sliced beef to the pan and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef and set aside.

  3. 3

In the same pan, add the remaining oil, minced garlic, and sliced onion. Stir-fry for 2 minutes until onions are translucent.

  4. 4

Add the green beans to the pan and stir-fry for another 3 minutes until they are tender-crisp.

  5. 5

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water. Pour the sauce mixture into the pan and stir well to combine.

  6. 6

Return the cooked beef to the pan and toss everything together to heat through for another 2 minutes. Season with black pepper to taste.

  7. 7

Serve the stir-fry over cooked jasmine rice.
