Ingredients

  • 300 grams chicken breast, sliced
  • 200 grams tempeh, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons kosher soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. 1

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. 2

Add the cubed tempeh and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  3. 3

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil and add the sliced chicken. Season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes.

  4. 4

Add the minced garlic and ginger to the chicken, and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  5. 5

Toss in the sliced bell pepper and broccoli, stir-frying for about 3-4 minutes until just tender but still crisp.

  6. 6

Return the crispy tempeh to the skillet, and pour in the soy sauce and kecap manis. Stir everything well to combine and cook for another minute.

  7. 7

Drizzle with sesame oil before serving, and enjoy over cooked rice.
